ERT Group can provide your business with an Evacuation Plan

When it comes to emergency diagrams and evacuation plans, there’s no one diagram or plan that suits all. That’s why ERT Group can help you create emergency diagrams and evacuation plans designed & tailored specifically for your facility, business or building requirements. These diagrams may lead to less confusion, and the appropriate response.

Emergency diagrams and evacuation plans should be easy to read and understand, ensuring occupants can quickly and easily get the information they need to evacuate the facility safely and as quick as possible, if required, in the event of an emergency. As an integral part of the Emergency Management Plan, evacuation diagrams are designed to inform occupants of the emergency evacuation procedures, the locations and directions of the nearest emergency exits, location and types of Firefighting Equipment, Emergency Call Points, first aid kits, Fire Indicator Panel, spill kits, the designated emergency assembly areas and who to call in the event of an emergency, and the acronym RACE. Each diagram will have its correct location marked with “YOU ARE HERE” point.

Do the emergency diagrams and evacuation plans in your facility meet Australian Standards? Under the Australian Standard AS 3745-2010: Planning for Emergencies in Facilities, emergency diagrams and evacuation plans must be displayed where occupants and visitors are able to view them. The PCBU, the person responsible for a facility and tenants, is required to ensure a safe work environment by distributing sufficient emergency and evacuation information (Evacuation Diagrams) to occupants explaining the actions to be taken in the event of an emergency.

Section 43 of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Emergency Plans) stipulate that the PCBU must develop Emergency Diagrams and Evacuation Plans to ensure the workplace has effective plans in place to manage all types of emergencies including fire emergencies. This information is expected to be provided in various forms including the display of Evacuation Diagrams that comprise a pictorial representation of a floor or area and other relevant emergency and evacuation information.
