COURSE SUMMARY

RII30719 – Certificate III Emergency Response and Rescue qualification reflects the role of response and rescue team members who work in a mine site or a construction site who perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications applied in a wide variety of contexts, which may involve application of some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.

This RII30719 qualification is targeted to those who provide initial response to incidents in the workplace such as those who are working in a mines rescue unit, working as part of an Emergency Response Team or Emergency Service Personnel.

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

RECERTIFICATION

There is no legislative requirement for refresher training for the qualification as a whole; only for the units which fall in line with industry standards/recommendations.

COURSE DELIVERY

This course will be delivered in the workplace or at an ERT Rescue Group Pty Ltd training facility.

COURSE DURATION (FACE TO FACE)
  • Face to Face – 20 Days Monday to Friday (minimum) – full face to face course
WORK PLACEMENT ARRANGEMENTS

No work placement arrangements will be required as part of this course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Participants must have sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete this course. Personal safety equipment must be provided by the student and worn during training. Due to the high amount of practical training in this unit, participants must also be physically fit.

PREREQUISITES

Please see listed pre-requisites in the course content section. There are pre-requisites to imported units listed in this RII30719 qualification. Where a unit is imported as an elective, care must be taken to ensure that all pre-requisites specified are complied with.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE COURSE?
ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES

Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include:

Practical scenarios – The assessor must observe practical scenarios.

Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.

 

*Please note that ERT Fire & Rescue supplies all equipment necessary for you to undertake your training. ERT Fire & Rescue always recommend and encourage you to bring along your own equipment. Trainee’s must wear appropriate clothing that will get dirty and enclosed footwear is essential.
