PUASAR025 – Undertake Confined Space Rescue covers the competency required to undertake rescue in confined spaces; as defined in AS 2865-2009 Confined Spaces as a member of a single agency or multi-disciplinary team.
The application of this unit in the workplace covers a range of confined space rescue situations.
The unit is typically performed by personnel from emergency services and/or volunteer organisations or organisations where confined space work is undertaken. This unit is also targeted for those who are working in a mine rescue unit working as part of an Emergency Rescue Team.

Participants are required to re-certify every 2 years from their completion date to maintain currency.
This course will be delivered in the workplace or at an ERT Rescue Group Pty Ltd training facility.
No work placement arrangements will be required as part of this course

Participants in confined space rescue require a level of physical ability to operate in and remove casualties from an emergency situation in a confined space where there may be risk to life.
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

Practical scenarios – The assessor must observe the following practical scenarios:
Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.
*Please note that ERT Fire & Rescue supplies all equipment necessary for you to undertake your training. ERT Fire & Rescue always recommend and encourage you to bring along your own equipment. Trainee’s must wear appropriate clothing that will get dirty and enclosed footwear is essential.
