RIIWHS204D – Work Safely at Heights teaches the skills and knowledge required to work safely at heights in the resources and infrastructure industries. This course is appropriate for those working in operational roles where they are required to perform work at heights.
If an employer has personnel working where they can fall from one height to another and there is risk of injury, then a provision must be made to prevent falls. Appropriate equipment must be made available and appropriate training must be given under the National Workplace Health and Safety Act and in particular; the National Code Of Practice for Managing Risks of Falls at the Workplace.
This course covers risk assessment, advice on the right selection and correct use of equipment, rigging and anchor systems, fall restraint, work positioning and fall arrest systems. This course will enable you to comply with current WHS Legislation. Trainees are trained how to correctly select height safety equipment and how to apply it.

Participants are required to re-certify every 2 years from their completion date to maintain currency.
This course will be delivered in the workplace or at an ERT Group Pty Ltd training facility – 214 Bridge St, West Tamworth
No work placement arrangements will be required as part of this course

Participants are required to have sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete this course. Participants also require a level of physical ability to complete this course in order to be deemed competent or issued with a statement of attainment.
There are no prerequisites for this unit.
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.
