PUASAR022A – Participate in a Rescue Operation covers the competency required to participate in rescue operations as a member of a rescue team. The application of this unit in the workplace covers a wide range of rescue and environmental situations, which may include industrial, rural, bush and extreme environmental conditions.
There are also specific industries that require additional training; such as emergency services.
The individual will work under supervision in a team but may be responsible for completing individual tasks relating to a rescue. This unit underpins specialist rescue operations.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
This unit is targeted to those who are working in a mines rescue unit working as part of an Emergency Rescue Team.
This course is delivered and assessed on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909 by ERT Group Pty Ltd.

Participants are required to re-certify every 12 months from their completion date to maintain currency.
This course will be delivered in the workplace or at an ERT Group Pty Ltd training facility – 214 Bridge St, West Tamworth NSW 2340
No work placement arrangements will be required as part of this course

Participants are to be assessed as physically capable of working under supervision in a team but may be responsible for completing individual tasks relating to a rescue in a range of simulated and real locations.
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

Practical scenarios – The assessor must observe the following practical scenarios:
Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.
*Please note that ERT Fire & Rescue supplies all equipment necessary for you to undertake your training. ERT Fire & Rescue always recommend and encourage you to bring along your own equipment. Trainee’s must wear appropriate clothing that will get dirty and enclosed footwear is essential.
