This course is designed for educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylaxis emergencies.
This course incorporates the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults.
This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).
This unit of competency has been approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements of “First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis”.
This course has pre-course study. Students also attend 10 hours of face to face training.
A Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in HLTAID004 – Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting will be issued to all successful participants.
Participants are required to recertify every 3 years from their completion date to maintain currency.
Participants must be aged 14 years or older
*Please note that it is a requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.
