HLTAID001 – PROVIDE CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION

Course Summary

This unit of competency will give you the skills and knowledge to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
This course is designed for people who work in education, mining, hospitality, tourism, community and aged care, emergency services and other community and workplace settings.

Course Content
  • Recognising and assessing a cardiac emergency situation
  • Airway and breathing management
  • Performing CPR
  • Understanding and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Reporting and recording an emergency
  • General WH&S and legal issues
Delivery

4 hours of face to face training

Qualification

A Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in HLTAID001 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation will be issued to all successful participants.

Recertification

Participants are required to recertify every 12 months from their completion date to maintain currency.

Prerequisites

Participants must be aged 14 years or older

*Please note that it is a requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.
